Bhubaneswar: Protesting against the arrest of the Athamallik bus owner, private bus operators association on Monday threatened to stage a 24-hour strike on September 29.
The All Odisha Bus Owners’ Association demanded the withdrawal of cases against the owner of the ill-fated ‘Maharaja’ bus, which fell off a bridge in Athamallik killing 19 persons and injuring several others.
Bus owners and staff have decided to wear black badges from tomorrow in protest against the arrest, said sources.
The association also threatened to go on an indefinite strike from October 7 if the case against the Athamallik bus owner is not withdrawn by October 6.
