Japanese Encephalitis Spreads To Puri, One Died


Bhubaneswar: Japanese Encephalitis disease is spreading its tentacles to other districts of Odisha as one death reported in Brahmagiri area of Puri district on Thursday.

Kiran Barik, an 11-year-old boy of Bengama village in Brahmagiri area died on Thursday after he got affected by Japanese Encephalitis, informed Puri chief district medical officer.

Barik along with four others were admitted to SCB medical college and hospital after they were tested positive for Japanese Encephalitis in May this year.

Meanwhile, the Japanese Encephalitis death toll in Malkangiri district has reached to 38.
