Bhubaneswar: The fifth edition of Indian surf festival (ISF) will begin at Ramchandi beach in Puri on November 12 this year.
The three-day event is organized by a group who like to call themselves ‘Surfing Yogis’.
The ‘surfer yogis’ will surf for the cause ‘Earth positive and carbon negative’ in the current installment.
Organizer Sanjay Samanta said artists, musicians and photographers and the professional surfers are going to attend the event.
He said the theme of the event is selected to promote a safe environment.
A workshop would be conducted a couple of weeks before the surfing festival kicks off where the local community would interact with experts of the sport of surfing.
The last edition of the fest was conducted February 2015.
Amidst all activities, the festival promises to remain committed to its motto for a better environment by launching community afforestation programme and cleaning the local beach as part of its celebration. Visual artistes will be among the volunteers who would not only take part in the cleaning process, but also use the garbage collected for their art.
