10th Exam Likely To Be Pushed Forward Due To Panchayat Polls

Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education department on Thursday said it is looking at possibilities of conducting the 10th exams in March next year due to the Panchayat elections which are likely to be held in February.

It said that government and the Board of Secondary Education are working on which month is best suited to have the exams because the same people who will be conducting exams are also involved in the electoral process.

It  said the government would ensure that the two activities are conducted smoothly without any problems.

The state election commission is planning to hold the elections in February next year.

However, the guardians and students opposed the pushing of examination to another month.

Besides, the students will have to bear the wrath of sun if the examinations are held in March.
