Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education department of Odisha government has issued guidelines for transfer of Plus Il and degree college students for the current academic year.
According to the guidelines, the students need not have to obtain approval of the government (higher education department) for transfer admissions and there is no need to visit offices of higher education directorate or regional directorate to pursue their transfer.
There will be no transfer admission into Plus II second year classes. However, the transfer can be approved under special circumstances as the transfer of parents, retirement or death of parents, the marriage of a girl student and medical reasons with due approval by the higher education department, said the guidelines.
Written permission from both the colleges, subject to the availability of seats, is required to effect a transfer.
However, the Plus II students have to inform the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and those of the degree colleges have to intimate the concerned university. After getting the order of the respective institutions, the district SAMS (student academic management system) nodal college of the receiving college will update the transfer order number in the e-space so that necessary admission update will be carried out by the concerned college.
The government has withdrawn the restriction of transfer of students from non-autonomous colleges to autonomous colleges as all the colleges have adopted Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) from the current academic session.
