Gopalpur: Tata Steel has organised an exposure visit of 34 farmers from various places from Ganjam district to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sakhigopal in Puri district.
P.Kamala Reddy, Chairperson of Rangeilunda Block, Prativa Behera, Chairperson of Chatrapur Block, Ganjam district flagged off the tour today from Tata Steel Rural Development Society ( TSRDS) office at Bahadurpeta of Rangeilunda block in presence of R.K. Singh, Head R&R, Tata Steel, Project Gopalpur.
The purpose of the 2 days tour is to facilitate the farmers to obtain better knowledge on paddy, oil seed, and pulses cultivation through line transplantation under the guidance of accomplished scientists of KVK.
The visit is planned in a way such that the farmers will be better equipped to increase the yield by implementing best practices of cultivation, farm equipment management, pest control, disease management etc. so that they can increase their income.
Coordinated by TSRDS, Gopalpur unit, a total of 34 farmers from across 31 villages under Rangailunda and Chatrapur block have joined in this tour. Others present on the flag off ceremony included Mr. Rockey Martin, Unit Head, TSRDS, Project Gopalpur, other officials of Tata Steel, TSRDS.
