Nabarangpur: In order to resolve the family disputes, a family court was inaugurated in the Nabarangpur district court premises by Orissa High Court’s Justice Satrughana Pujahari on Saturday.
Justice Satrughana Pujahari inaugurated the family court in the presence of the Register of High court, district judge Himansu Sekhar Brahma, newly appointed judge of family court Sanjeeb Dubey, Additional district judge Gourimati Moharana, Registrar Siba Prasad Mohapatra and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Pujahari said the efforts were on to provide justice to the women and children to protect their rights under the constitution.
The family court has been set up with an objective to tackle a heavy backlog of cases pertaining to the family matters and hear them in a congenial atmosphere, different from the intimidating ones at regular courts.
The district Bar association held a welcome meeting following the opening of the family court. The lawyers of the association, through a memorandum, put forward their demand for the establishment of a vigilance court at Nabarangpur, which is a long-standing demand.
