No Leave For Odisha Health Staff Ahead Of Cyclone Kyant

Bhubaneswar: With the deep depression intensifying into a cyclone storm, which is likely to impact on coastal and interior Odisha, the state government on Monday said no leave would be allowed for medical staff during the cyclone period.

“All Medical and Paramedical staff need to remain present in their headquarters and leave should not be allowed during the period,” Health secretary Arti Ahuja in a letter to all the chief district medical officers.

Ahuja asked the health officials to remain prepared to meet the public health situation as the state likely to experience cyclone Kyant on October 28-29.

The health secretary asked to open a control room and prepare the contingency plan for deployment of staff for non-affected areas within the district for deployment whenever required.
