Deep Depression Likely To Bring Rainfall In Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to receive rainfall as the cyclonic storm Kyant formed over the Bay of Bengal weakened into a deep depression, said Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday.

“Rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha,” said a bulletin.

It further said heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in coastal Odisha.

“Surface the wind from Southeasterly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph with gusting 55 kmph would prevail along and off south Odisha coast and 35 to 40 kmph gusting to 45 kmph over north Odisha coast,” said the bulletin.

It said sea condition would be rough to very rough over south Odisha coast and moderate to rough over north Odisha coast.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea in south Odisha coast and they are to be cautious while venturing into the sea in north Odisha coast, said IMD.
