Husband Killed Wife’s Lover While She Was Watching

Rourkela: A 35 -year-old man was arrested by Sundargarh police on Friday for allegedly killing the lover of his wife on Thursday.

The accused was also attempting to kill his wife but she narrowly escaped from his attack.

Sources said, the wife of Abhi Chatria had allegedly developed an extramarital relationship with one Rohit Neti (40).

Abhi and his wife, who resides in Kirei village in  Sundargarh, used to go to forest to collect  wood. Rohit Neti, a married person and resident of Semani village, was also going to forest to collect wood. The extra marital affairs of Abhi’s wife started with Rohit after they came closer during their collection of wood in forest, said police.

Abhi, who always consumes liquor, came to know about their affairs, opposed it. She, however, did not pay heed to his husband’s advice, said sources.

On Thursday morning, Abhi and his wife had gone to nearby forest to collect wood. Rohit  had also gone to this forest to collect wood. However, Abhi had planned to punish Rohit for having affairs with her wife.

After collecting wood, Abhi told his wife to go home. When she was going to her home, Abhi  suddenly snatched a axe from Rohit’s hand and started attacking  him. When Abhi’s wife heard the screaming of Rohit, she ran towards him and tried  to  save  him, but could n’t.

Rohit died on the spot as Abhi repeatedly attacked him. Thereafter, Abhi ran after his wife to kill her but she managed to flee from there.

“Abhi has been arrested and forwarded to court for killing Rohit  Neti. We have seized the axe by which he  killed him,” said  I.J. Behera, Sadar police  station IIC.
