Cuttack: Odisha Crime Branch would set up a Cyber Crime Forensic Division to tackle growing cyber crimes in the state, with one more Cyber Crime Police Station in Bhubaneswar, said an official on Saturday.
It was discussed at a meeting attended by police and bank officials at the State Headquarters here.
The meeting was presided by Crime Branch Special Director General (DG) BK Sharma. Police officials from 36 police districts participated in the meeting.
“The Cyber Crime Forensic Division would be commissioned by March next year in Odisha,” said Sharma.
The second Cyber Crime Police Station will come up at Bhubaneswar.
Since it is anticipated that cyber-related crimes would grow up in post demonetization due to the increase of digital cash transactions, there is a need for another police station, said Sharma.
The first Cyber Crime Police Station is housed at the headquarters of the Crime Branch (CID) in Cuttack.
