Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) authorities have decided not to allow the passengers to take selfies and photographs in the operational area of the airport.
The airport authorities decided to strictly enforce the direction of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on taking photographs in the operational area of the airport.
“Passengers must not try taking photographs or selfies inside the operational area of the airport. This is a serious offence and security officials will take necessary action against the offenders,” said BPIA director, R Mahalingam.
Recently, the DGCA issued strict warnings to two pilots of IndiGo airline for taking selfie in the cockpit and uploading them on social media. The DGCA has issued a circular in this regard.
Besides, Section 13 of DGCA rules clearly slates that no person shall take or cause or be permitted to take photographs at a government aerodrome or from an aircraft on air, except in accordance with and subject to the terms and conditions of permission in writing granted by the concerned authorities.
