Adani-Dhamra Festival 2016 concludes


Dhamra: To mark the 5th Foundation Day of the Adani-Dhamra Port, a two-day long festival was celebrated in the port periphery in a grand way at Dhamra.

CEO of Dhamra Port Subrat Tripathy inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Consulate General of Nepal Eak Narayan Aryal and Deputy Consulate General Rameshwar Pokhral were present among other dignitaries.

Senior officials of Adani Groups from different parts of the country also attended the program.

Odissi dance performed by Nityananda enthralled the audience and also got appreciations. Dhamra Port has been putting its all efforts to promote the Odissi Dance and culture by giving opportunities to local artists at the international level by conducting such programs frequently. Dance and song performed by different artists mesmerized the audience.

As part of this two-day long program, more than 400 students of DAV Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar visited the port under its CSR program ‘Udaan’. Skilled engineers of the port have informed the students about different techniques and operations of the port.

A sand art on the theme of ‘Women Education’ by the noted sand artist of Puri SMS Group was another attraction of this program.

Addressing the students, Tripathy enlightened the students about the career in the port sector. Efficient workers of different departments were also felicitated during the occasion. This program was concluded with various entertainment programs.

It may be noted here, Dhamra Port was formally inaugurated on December 18, 2011, by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. However, commercial operations of the port had commenced on May 6, 2011. Presently, Dhamra Port has two fully mechanized berths and a fully electrified rail link of 62 km joining Dhamra with Bhadrak on the Howrah-Chennai main line.

Dhamra Port, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Ports and SEZ is in the expansion mode at present.
