Sudarsan eyes world record by creating 1000 sand Santa Clauses

Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik is eyeing for yet another world record by creating 1000 sand Santa Clauses on Puri beach in Odisha.

He has already created 800 Santa Clauses and the work would be completed by Saturday evening.

“I am attempting for another #WorldRecord by creating 1000 #SandSanta at Puri beach. More than 800 completed. Tomorrow evening will be opened,” tweeted Sudarsan.

With the creation of 1000 sand Santa, his name will be registered in the Limca Book of Records.

“I have already informed officials of the Limca Book of Records about this and hope it will find a place in the upcoming edition of the record book,” he said.

The internationally acclaimed sand artist is being assisted by his students of Sudarsan Sand Art Institute of Puri.

He will break his own record with the creation of 1000 Santa Clauses. In 2012, he had created 500 sand Santa Clauses and found a place in the Limca Book of Records.

In 2015, Sudarsan had created world’s tallest Santa Clause at Puri beach.
