Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions prevailed in parts of Odisha on Sunday as the mercury decreased while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the prevailing cold wave condition would continue for the next two days.
“The cold wave condition will continue till January 16. The mercury will start rising from January 17 onwards. The weather condition will slightly improve after the next few days,” said IMD Bhubaneswar director Sarat Chandra Sahu.
As cold wind is coming from the north side, the people are feeling cold in the daytime also, he added.
At least eight towns of the state recorded a minimum temperature of less than 10 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Lowest temperature of 8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Angul.
