Bhubaneswar: The Railway ministry on Sunday confirmed that a total 36 persons have died and 50 injured in Hirakhand Express derailment near Andhra-Odisha border on Saturday night.
“36 persons have been died in the train accident while 50 persons were injured. seven persons are in serious condition and they have been admitted to a hospital in Visakhapatnam,” said Chief PRO of East Coast Railway J.P. Mishra.
He said the Railway Safety Commissioner under the Civil Aviation Ministry would probe into the derailment of Hirakhand Express.
“We will issue notification for the probe today. The probe process will start from tomorrow once the rescue operation is over,” said Mishra.
