Bhubaneswar-Anand Vihar train engine moves on, leaves bogies behind in Odisha


Rourkela (Odisha):  Passengers traveling in the Bhubaneswar-Anand Vihar Super Fast Weekly Express train counted anxious moments on Tuesday when several bogiesthose got detached from the engine were left behind after the engine moved ahead in Rourkela.

The incident took place when the engine of this super fast train accidentally got detached from the bogies near Birajapalli about 10-15 minutes after leaving Rourkela Railway Station this afternoon.

However, the train driver realized it only after observing the sudden surge in the speed of the engine. The driver came to know about the incident after he found the bogies missing and drove the engine back about 2 km.

The Express train was later taken back to Rourkela from where it again left for New Delhi after the change of another engine.

The incident occurred just two days after the derailment of Hirakhand express in which 41 people were killed and several injured in Odisha-Andhra border.
