Bhubaneswar: The second evening of the 13th Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav showcased a beautiful blend of classical dance and music with martial dances which regaled a large audience gathered at the foothill of Dhauli.
The programme started with Tala Vadya Vichitra by Guru Dhaneswar Swain and group. Swain is an internationally acclaimed Mardala player known for his effortless execution of melodious strokes. Today, the group performances in music was brilliant in rhythmic compositions and melodious.
The next presentation was Bharatnatyam by Vaibhav Arekar & Group from Mumbai. Their all items were dedicated to Lord Shiva. Their first presentation was Shiva Bandana followed by Ardhanariswar, Hari-hara, Shakti, Bhakti and Nataraj.
The dancers narrated the different facets of Shiva in Bharatnatyam style exhibiting classical skill and talent much to the joy and ecstasy of the audience.
The last programme of the evening was martial dance of Malkangiri, Odisha “Budhayan”. It was the traditional arts of Kung-fu Guide to Soul. Today’s the dancers fighting techniques, physical exercises and methods of mental discipline are fantastic.
Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav is jointly organized by Department of Tourism and Orissa Dance Akademy and Art Vision.
