IMD predicts thunderstorms in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Even as temperature crossed 40 degree Celsius mark in several places in Odisha making life unbearable, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunder squalls in some districts of the state in next two days.

The IMD predicted thunderstorms for next one to two days in North and Southern parts of the state.

Bhubaneswar Met center Director SC Sahu said sea breeze with comparatively higher speeds of 15 to 20 kmph is not allowing the south western winds to raise the temperature in the state.

Thunderstorms are likely to occur in some parts of the state like Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack in next two days from March 26 to 28, said Sahu.
