Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor and film producer Pupinder Singh was arrested for defying court summons on Saturday.
He, however, was granted bail after his appearance in the court.

The Balianta police had arrested Pupinder from his residence in Hansapal area after a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against the actor and his wife by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JFMC) court for defying court summons.

A case was under trial against the actor for allegedly cheating a mining company to the tune of lakhs of rupees.

The actor failed to appear before the court personally, defying summon of the court. After this, the court issued a warrant against the actor.

The actor turned film producer had borrowed Rs 30 lakh from the mining firm in 2013 for his home production Odia film.
While repaying the debt, Pupinder initially paid Rs 5 lakh but failed to pay the rest of the amount.

According to the complainant, three cheques given to the company by Pupinder bounced after which the firm moved the court.
