BJD bid to revive Biju legacy on his birth centenary celebration

Bhubaneswar: Amid the political turmoil in the run-up to the assembly polls, the ruling BJD is once again trying to capture the sentiments of people with Biju legacy.

Biju Patnaik Centenary Committee is slated to organise a book release event on January 27 to be attended by several senior leaders from various political parties of the country.

Former president Pranab Mukherjee will release a pictorial biography of legendary political leader and former Chief Minister of Odisha Biju Patnaik on his birth centenary celebration on January 27.

Veteran BJP leader LK Advani, Communist Party of India (Marxist) chief Sitaram Yechury, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and some Union Ministers are slated to take part in Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary celebration in the state.

Besides, leaders from Odisha would attend the event.

However, BJD MP Pratap Keshari Deb clarified that the centenary celebration of Biju Patnaik is not a party affair of BJD.

Deb said that Biju Patnaik Centenary Committee will organise the event and several senior leaders from different political parties across the country have been invited to attend the event.
