One-sided lover throws acid on girl in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Kalahandi: A girl was critically injured when a man, stated to have developed a one-sided love, allegedly threw acid on her in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

The incident occurred at Kalampur in Dharmagarh block.

The incident took place when the victim was on her way to Kalampur to attend computer class, said police.

One youth identified as Parshuram Majhi reportedly stopped the victim near Bankapalla Chhak and allegedly threw acid on her.

After attacking the girl with acid, the accused fled from the spot, said police sources.

The girl, who sustained multiple injuries in her face and hands, was admitted to the Dharmagarh Hospital. Her condition is stated to be stable now.

A group of local villagers rescued the girl and admitted her to a local hospital with critical injuries on face and hands.
Meanwhile, the family members of the victim lodged a complaint.
