Chandrasekhar Rath’s demise a great loss to Odia literature: Governor

Bhubaneswar: Governor Dr S.C. Jamir expressed grief over the passing away of noted writer Padmashree Chandrasekhar Rath.

Eminent litterateur and Kendra Sahitya Akademi Awardee Chandrasekhar Rath passed away at a private hospital here on Friday.

An awardee of Kendra Sahitya Academy and Odisha Sahitya Akademi Late Rath had enriched Odia literature with his many invaluable creations that received reader’s admiration, said Jamir.

Being into the teaching profession, he set a high standard and was popular with both students and those who are in the profession, said the Governor.

He described his demise as a great loss to Odia literature. Governor conveyed deep condolences to bereaved family members.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also paid his homage on the death of Rath.
