Miscreants hurl bombs at Konark BJD leader’s house

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled four bombs at the house and bike showroom of BJD’s Konark Nagar President Gopal Chandra Behera in Konark area of Puri district late Thursday night.

According to reports, Behera runs his bike showroom on the ground floor of his house. Parts of his house have been damaged and some bikes burnt in the incident. The showroom is about 100 meters away from the Konark police station.

The Nimapara DSP along with other police officers have rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.

While exact reason behind the incident has not been ascertained, it is suspected that the bombing is the fallout of past rivalry over business issues.
