Rape accused escapes from court premises in city

Bhubaneswar: An under-trial prisoner managed to escape police custody while he was being taken to a court in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

The under-trial was identified as Ranjan Martha.

He had been in jail for the last one-and-a-half-year for allegedly raping a minor girl.

It is reported that Ranjan managed to give a slip to police due to a loose security arrangement.
