Five held with fake notes in Balasore

Balasore: Five members of a gang were arrested by the police on Sunday in connection with the circulation of counterfeit currency notes in Balasore.

At least 75 fake notes in denominations of Rs 2,000 were seized from them.

Acting on a tip-off, Balasore and Simulia police raided several places in their police limits and nabbed five persons.

Altogether 75 counterfeit currency notes of Rs 2,000 were seized from them.

Police also seized a car and bike from their possession.

Last week, Simulia police had arrested Birachnipur resident Bishnu Nayak, after he had deposited Rs 44,000 fake notes at a cooperative bank.
