ED quizzes BJD MLA over links with Dhal Samant brothers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday quizzed BJD MLA Pranab Balabantaray on his alleged links with arrested gangster brothers Sushil and Sushant Dhal Samant.

Balabantaray was interrogated about three hours.

The ruling BJD MLA from Jajpur district’s Dharmasala appeared before the ED in connection with his alleged business links with arrested D-Brothers, Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta.

The Dharmasala MLA’s transport company, Pranab Minerals and Transport, has alleged business and financial transactions with the criminal brothers.

“I furnished all documents and audit reports of the company from 2005 to 2010. I have no links with the Dhal Samant brothers,” said the BJD MLA.

Notably, the Dhal Samant brothers were arrested in January 2016 and are languishing in jails.
