Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday started reviewing the performance of different departments of his government ahead of elections in 2019.
Though the review of the performance of departments is a yearly exercise, this year it has assumed significance in view of the ensuing general elections in 2019.
Patnaik reviewed the work of as many as four departments-School and Mass Education, SC and ST Development, Law and Health departments.
After the completion of the review meetings, the success and achievement of all departments will be discussed at the meeting of the council of ministers and made known to the people of the state.
The review meeting will continue until May 17, said an official.
The BJD government in Odisha is set to complete the fourth year of its fourth term on May 21.
