Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of visitors, who went to visit the Sun Temple at Konark, were disheartened after being unable to visit the sculptural marvellous due to water logging around the temple on Wednesday.
Locals pointed out that water-logging at the Sun Temple, also known as Black Pagoda, has been a regular feature for the last 10-12 years.
According to reports, while water remained stagnated to knee-deep level in the temple compound due to heavy rains, temple authorities failed to flush out the water. As a result, visitors had to return without visiting the temple.
However, some visitors to the 13th-century monument had to wade through about two feet of deep water which had accumulated around the site following the downpour.
