Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday said the NDA government led by Narendra Modi has failed in all aspects.
Patnaik said Modi government promised power supply to every village and every household.
But a week before, a joint secretary in Union Power Ministry has made it clear that the government is only responsible for infrastructure. It can not guarantee uninterrupted power supply 24 x7, he added.
“The distributing companies and state government are responsible for this. By this central government is trying to shift the responsibilities and betraying the general public,” said the PCC president.
Patnaik said BJP government of Chhatisgarh constructed unauthorised barrage over river Mahanadi and Odisha remained dry in summer.
“Now they are constructing barrage on river Tel, the major tributary of Mahanadi. The Centre is helping Raman Singh to do so,” he informed.
He also hit out at the centre for failing to announce the MSP for farmers.
He also criticized the Modi government for announcing demonetization, which failed to curb black money.
“Public suffered a lot to withdraw the money deposited in banks and stood out for hours in scorching sun. But after demonetization, 7000 crores have been deposited in Swiss Bank as black money. This is a strong blow to the innocent public,” he added.
With the BJP trying to capture Odisha in 2019 polls, Patnaik said, “Prime Minister, Party president Amit Shah and several central ministers are visiting Odisha on regular basis. But they are dreaming. They are not going to get anything out of this. People of Odisha already know the truth. Voters will give their verdict in due course of time.”
