College student intoxicated, raped in Balasore

Balasore: A college student was allegedly intoxicated and raped by a married man in Odisha’s Balasore district, said police on Thursday.

The girl lodged a complaint alleging that a married man drugged and raped her at Karanja Bindha village under Khantapada police station on July 28.

The accused has been identified as Kanhucharan Jena of Soro.

The victim alleged that Jena tricked her into his house when she was on her way to college in Gopalpur. He also gave her intoxicants and then repeatedly raped in an inebriated state.

Police said while medical examination of the girl has been conducted they have started an investigation into the matter.
