Cyclone Titli death toll increases to 77 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The death toll due to the severe cyclonic storm Titli and consequent floods has increased to 77 in Odisha, said an official on Wednesday.

Joint Relief Commissioner Pravat Mohapatra said while the state government has identified the death of 58 persons, verification is on to ascertain the cause of the death of another 19 people.

He also informed that a central team would visit the cyclone and flood-affected areas soon to assess the damage.

Mohapatra also said that a four-member team led by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) left for the Gajapati district on Wednesday to oversee the ongoing relief and restoration works.
