New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s sister Gita Mehta will be conferred with the Padma Shri award this year.
Gita Mehta will receive the Padma Shri as foreigner for her work in the field of literature and education.
Besides, three from Odisha Kalama Pujari (Agriculture), Devarapalli Prakash Rao (Social Work-Affordable Education) and Daitari Naik (Social Work) will receive Padma Shri this year.
The Padma awards were announced on the eve of the Republic Day on Friday.

fields of activities – art, social work, public affairs, science and
engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports,
civil service, etc.
