Jail for drunken driving in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Acting tough on drunken driving, the Odisha government has ordered to arrest the violators immediately.

The government ordered strict checking at toll gates for drunken driving.

As per the guidelines, violators will be arrested immediately and a medical examination will be conducted within 2 hours. Besides, the violators will be fined.

The move of the state government is aimed to curb accidents in the state, which has increased alarmingly in recent years.

Notably, under the amended Motor Vehicle Act 2019, the central government has increased the fine for traffic rules violation.
