Odia movie actor Babushan’s car hits pedestrian

Bhubaneswar: Odia movie actor Babushan Mohanty’s car has hit a pedestrian at Shyampur Chowk under Khandagiri police limits, said police on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on late Monday night when Babushan was returning home from a film shoot. Following the incident, tension ran high at Shaympur Chowk as people demanded action against the actor.

The injured person has been identified as Ranjan Naik. He sustained serious fractures in both his legs. Ranjan was rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to locals, Ranjan had gone to watch the film shooting that was taking place close to his home. While on his way back home, the actor’s car hit Ranjan.

As the tension prevailed, the police reached the spot and pacified the irate locals. The police have seized the vehicle and detained the driver for interrogation.
