Dutee Chand breaks her own record; Amiya bags gold

Bhubaneswar: Ace sprinter Dutee Chand created a new national record in women’s 100-metre sprint event at the ongoing 59^th National Senior Open Athletics Championships in Ranchi on Friday.

Odia sprinters Dutee Chand and Amiya Mallick won gold medals in men’s and women’s 100m events respectively at the 59th National Senior Open Athletics Championships.

Dutee bettered her personal best also at the event. She shattered the 100-meter national record time of 11.22 seconds in semis after breaking her previous record 11.26 seconds at the recent IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

Amiya Mallick also won gold in men’s 100m sprint at the championships by clocking the time of 10.46 seconds.
