Ganjam admin to penalise people not wearing mask

Bhubaneswar: The Ganjam district administration in Odisha on Sunday issued an order to penalise the people who come outside without wearing a face mask.

“If anyone is coming outside without mask/ handkerchief/ scarf, the person will be penalised with Rs1000 in the urban area and Rs 500 in the rural area,” said Ganjam district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.

“If anyone is coming outside without Mask, then will be penalised with Rs1000 in urban area and Rs 500 in rural area. Use cotton clothes mask, Rumal, or scarf to cover nose and mouth,” tweeted the district administration.

The move is aimed at containing the spread of coronavirus.
