Lockdown: 100 Ola cabs to ply in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allowed Ola to provide emergency mobility services to and from hospitals in twin cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during the lockdown period, which has been extended to April 30.

The Transport Commissioner has issued an order allowing Ola to provide 100 cabs for the emergency mobility services to the public including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.

Ola will provide the details including the name and mobile number of drivers, vehichle registration number to RTO, Bhubaneswar-I.

The RTO will coordinate with Ola for issue of passes to the vehicles to operate during the lockdown period.

The vehicle should not carry more than one passenger excluding the driver. In case of patient, attendant of the patient may also be allowed.

The vehicle will operate from point to point without any halt en-route to the designated 83 hospitals in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The driver has to upload photo and their IDs of the passengers to their system for each trip. The persons not having IDs with them should not be allowed for any ride.

Ola will deploy the computer system round the clock in the Police Control Room in consultation with the Commissionerate of Police.
