Banks to operate from 8 AM to 2 PM during lockdown

Bhubaneswar: All banks except in Cuttack, Puri, Chhatrapur, Berhampur, Koraput, Bhubaneswar city/town limits will function from 8 AM to 2 PM in the state, said an order on Thursday.

The customer service hours are from 8 AM to 1 PM. This provision is up to the lockdown period until May 3, said the Revenue and Disaster Management department in its order.

It said that the banks in early hours are likely to avoid the rush.

The order also said due to the summer season, it is also necessary to operate banks in the morning hours in the interest of customers.

The bank authorities have been asked to strictly maintain the social distancing norms in order to keep the deadly coronavirus at bay.
