Odisha reports 304 COVID cases, biggest single-day surge


Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Sunday reported two more COVID-19 deaths and 304 new Covid-19 positive cases, biggest single-day surge so far.

A 76-year-old man of Bargarh district passed away while undergoing treatment in a hospital. He was also suffering from diabetes, informed the health department.

Another Covid positive 49-year-old male patient of Ganjam district passed away in hospital. He was also a patient of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the department said.

With this, the Covid death toll in state rose to 14.

An all-time high of 304 tested positive for Covid-19 in Odisha in past 24 hours, raising the total positive in state to 5160, the Health department said.

While 272 cases were reported from the quarantine centres, 32 cases were reported from several localities.
