Covid-19: Pension for kin of deceased Anganwadi, ASHA workers

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday announced monthly pension for the family members of Anganwadi and ASHA workers, who will die while fighting Covid-19 in the line of duty.

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued an order in this regard.

“The spouse/next of kin of deceased Anganwadi Worker, who succumbs to COVID-19 in line of duty under active deployment by the State authorities, shall continue to receive Rs.7500 only per month till the date he/ she would have attained the age of 60 years had he/ she survived,” said the order.

“The spouse/ next of kin of deceased ASHA working under H&FW Department, who succumbs to COVID-19 in line of duty under active deployment by the State authorities, shall continue to receive Rs.5000 only per month till the date he/ she would have attained the age of 60 years had he/ she survived,” it said.
