Mumbai: Reliance Jio has once again topped the 4G download speed chart with average download speed of 21.9 megabit per second (Mbps) in October 2021, as per the latest 4G download speed chart published by TRAI.
This is an increase of 1 Mbps from 20.9 Mbps average download speed recorded by Jio in September 2021.
The average 4G download speed achieved by Jio in the month of October is 8.7 Mbps higher than Bharti Airtel and 6.3 Mbps higher than Vodafone Idea (VI).
As per the data published by TRAI, Reliance Jio has once again topped in average 4G download speed leaving nearest competitors far behind. VI recorded average download speed of 15.6 Mbps in October, followed by Bharti Airtel with average 4G download speed of 13.2 Mbps.
In terms of average 4G upload speed VI was ahead of others with 7.6 Mbps speed in October, followed by Jio with average upload speed of 6.4 Mbps and Airtel with 5.2 Mbps average upload speed.
The download speed helps consumers in accessing content from the internet while upload speed helps them in sending or sharing pictures, video etc. The average speed is computed by Trai based on the data it collects across India with the help of its MySpeed application on a real-time basis.
As per the data published by TRAI on its MySpeed portal, Jio also topped in average 4G download speed in Odisha with 35 Mbps average download speed followed by VI with 8.3 Mbps and Bharti Airtel with 6.6 Mbps average 4G download speed.
In terms of average 4G upload speed in Odisha, VI topped with 8.3 Mbps followed by Reliance Jio with 8 Mbps and Airtel with 2.9 Mbps average 4G upload speed, according to data published by TRAI.
