Petrol pumps in Odisha to remain closed tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The petroleum dealers association in Odisha has decided to close down fuel filling stations across the state protesting against the reduction of fuel price and non-increase of dealer commission.

The fuel stations will remain closed from 6 pm to 6 am on May 27 and 28.

In a letter to State level coordinator, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, state president of petroleum dealers association said,” With reference to cited above I draw your kind attention on the following grievance which pains us mostly that the decision of the Union Govt. in consultation with all companies to reduce the price of petrol & diesel most welcome. Since it provides a huge respite to the general consumer but it seems that the decision so taken completely closing the eyes towards the interest of the dealers and also putting them into the huge loss and unusual apprehension.”

While soaring up the price of petrol & diesel takes place. But it happens in piecemeal but not abruptly on similar equation the reduction of the price of petrol & diesel should have been done with an intension of not causing financial loss to the dealers, read the letter.

This rationality has not been followed in reducing the price of petrol diesel because of this wrong decision the dealers community is facing on unprecedented financial loss and hardship, stated the letter.
