The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has invited eligible candidates for the post of medical officer in group-A (junior branch) of Odisha Medical & Health Services cadre under Health and Family Welfare department.
The online application for the recruitment of 3,481posts will begin from December 27, 2022 to January 27, 2323.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
A candidate must have possessed MBBS or equivalent Degree from a Medical College or Medical Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.
He/she must have possessed the required Conversion Certificates recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) in case of candidate having Degree from Universities of Foreign Countries.
METHOD OF SELECTION:
- The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts of Medical Officers shall be made on the basis of Written Test.
- The written examination shall comprise of one paper carrying 200 marks.
- There shall be 200 questions carrying one (01) mark each of Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) pattern.
- The duration of examination shall be three (03) Hours.
- There shall be no Negative Marking for wrong answers.
- The syllabus shall be as per the Medical Council of India (MCI) Syllabus for M.B.B.S Course.
- The detailed syllabus along with distribution of marks is given at ANNEXURE -A.
- The Commission shall prepare the list of candidates in order of merit on the basis of Written Test which shall be equal to the no. of advertised vacancies: Provided that, if two or more candidates secure equal marks then the candidate securing higher marks in the MBBS examination shall find place above the others in the merit list: Provided further that, in case marks obtained in MBBS examination is also the same, the candidate older in age shall be placed above the younger.
- Every candidate, selected by the Commission for appointment to the Service shall serve to the initial period of minimum 3 years in KBK, KBK+ area or Tribal Sub-Plan Area or in such area taken together.
