Odisha: Revenue Assistant nabbed by Vigilance whiling taking ₹50,000 bribe

Vigilance officials today nabbed a Revenue Assistant(SRA) of Puri Sub-Collector while accepting Rs 50,000 bribe from a complainant.

The accused has been identified as Jituranjan Chhatoi

Chhatoi, Senior Revenue Assistant(SRA) of Office of Sub-Collector, Puri has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe ₹ 50,000 from a Complainant for conversion of his land to ‘GHARABARI'(homestead) purpose in an  OLR Case, informed Vigilance officer.

The entire bribe money of ₹ 50,000 has been recovered and seized from the exclusive possession of accused Chhatoi.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Chhatoi from DA angle.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division PS Case No 41 under section 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Chhatoi, said officials.
