Tutor arrested for impregnating minor girl in Odisha

Jagatsinghpur: A man has been apprehended on charges of allegedly impregnating a minor girl whom he had been tutoring. This incident has occurred in Balitutha village, located within the jurisdiction of the Kujang police in Jagatsinghpur district.

The victim is a student in the fifth grade at an upper primary (UP) school in Balitutha.

According to police sources, the minor victim regularly attended tutoring sessions conducted by the accused, who resided in the same village. In cases where the tutor was unavailable, the young girl was taught at home by her father.

On a fateful Monday, the victim unexpectedly complained of severe stomach pain. Concerned for her well-being, the girl’s father promptly took her to a nearby healthcare facility for a thorough examination, which subsequently revealed her pregnancy.

After detailed questioning, the minor courageously revealed that her tutor had engaged in a non-consensual physical relationship with her. She confided in her parents, disclosing the torment she had endured. The accused teacher had explicitly warned the Class V student not to disclose this situation to anyone.

The girl’s father filed a formal complaint with the Kujang police, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. As a result, the accused individual was taken into custody.

To ensure the well-being of the young student, a medical examination was conducted at a local hospital.
