Cuttack: BJD’s Cuttack Lok Sabha seat candidate Santrupt Misra (58) is richest among candidates who have filed their nominations so far in Odisha.
The former HR head of Aditya Birla Group has declared assets worth around Rs 461 crore in his poll affidavit during nomination paper filling on Friday.
Misra owns movable assets to the tune of Rs 408 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 53 crore.
He has around Rs 308 crore investments in mutual funds, alternate investment funds, bonds and shares and owns a fleet of luxury cars, one flat each in Mumbai and Hyderabad and agricultural land in Raigad district of Maharashtra. However, Misra does not have any immovable property in Odisha.
The movable assets of wife have been valued at Rs 11.72 crore, according to the affidavit.
Misra joined the ruling BJD in February after taking voluntary retirement from Aditya Birla Group.
Another super-rich politician in fray is former Union minister and BJP nominee for Rourkela assembly seat, Dilip Ray. He owns assets worth around Rs 300 crore, according to his poll affidavit.
BJD candidate from mineral-rich Champua assembly seat, Sanatan Mahakud, declared assets worth nearly Rs 152 crore.
