Bhubaneswar: With the annual Rath Yatra in Puri expected to attract lakhs of devotees, the Puri Police on Tuesday issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and well-organized parking arrangements across the holy city.
The traffic plan outlines separate entry routes and designated parking zones for vehicles arriving from Brahmagiri, Bhubaneswar, and Konark sides. Special arrangements have also been made for two-wheelers to manage the large influx of pilgrims during the grand festival.
Traffic Route and Parking Details for Rath Yatra 2025
- From Brahmagiri Side (Four-Wheelers)
Light motor vehicles (LMVs) coming from Brahmagiri will be allowed up to Sterling Chhak via Mangalaghat. Parking will be arranged in the following sequence:

- From Bhubaneswar Side (Four-Wheelers)
Vehicles from Bhubaneswar will be routed via Malatipatapur ROB – Baidas Nagar – Grid Station to reach Talabania parking area. Available parking zones include:
OLA Guest House
Helipad
ITI College Ground
Indoor Stadium
Horticulture Field
Hygienic Fish Market
Once the Talabania parking area reaches capacity, vehicles will be redirected to the Sterling side through Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Mangalaghat.
- From Konark Side (Four-Wheelers)
Four-wheelers from Konark will follow the route via Balighai – Baidas Nagar – Grid Station to reach Talabania. The same parking locations as the Bhubaneswar route will be applicable.
Two-Wheelers: Routes and Parking
From Brahmagiri and Bhubaneswar:
Two-wheelers can access Old Jagannath Ballav Parking (OJBP) on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once full, overflow parking will be available at:

From Konark:

Return Route: Same as the entry route.
Important Traffic Alert
No vehicle movement will be allowed on the ROB road from Baidas Nagar Chhak under any circumstances during the Rath Yatra period.
Puri Police Appeals for Cooperation
The Puri Police has requested all visitors and pilgrims to strictly follow traffic regulations and cooperate with authorities. Adequate signage and traffic personnel will be deployed to assist and guide the public for a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience.
