Bhubaneswar: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increase of 50 seats for MBBS course in the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital -2 at Phulnakhara from the current academic session.
The IMS and SUM Hospital -2, which was inaugurated in January, 2023 had 150 seats to start with. Now it has been increased to 200 for the second batch of students. The Phulnakhara campus, admitted its first batch of 150 MBBS students in the 2024-25 session.
With this, the intake capacity of the Phulnakhara campus will increase from 150 to 200 seats from the 2025-26 academic session, benefiting the second batch of students.
