Rs 16 Lakh Looted From SBI ATM In Cuttack

Cuttack: Some unidentified miscreants have looted Rs 16 lakh from an SBI ATM counter at Gandarpur area under Chauliaganj police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack on Sunday night, said police.

The matter came to light on Monday after Sarat Chandra Mohanty, owner of the building where ATM counter was running, informed the bank officials.

The miscreants also  damaged the CCTV camera installed inside the ATM counter in a bid to destroy the evidence.

Mohanty said ,“ I found the shutter of the ATM counter closed in the morning. However, when I opened the shutter, I saw the front side of the ATM counter remained open and the wires inside the counter completely gutted. Soon I informed the Chauliaganj police who rushed to the spot with a forensic team and sniffer dog.”

Meanwhile, the bank officials have lodged a complaint with the police. The police  are investigating the matter.
